Hello. My name is Tony Buckley and I am the proud principal of Phelan Elementary School. I have been the principal at Phelan for the past seven years, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding journey. We are a P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school and have reached Platinum implementation status 4 years in a row of applying. Our tier I school-wide expectations are practiced daily. They are the ABCs, and they stand for Acting RESPECTFULLY, Being RESPONSIBLE, and Creating a SAFE environment. P.B.I.S. at Phelan means - ALL adults focusing on OUR adult behavior to maximize the effect of OUR teaching on all of OUR students.
We use Restorative Practices to restore harm when behaviors are inconsistent with and/or severely transgress the core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. Our scholars are taught how to emotionally regulate through our Social Emotional Learning
each and every day. We are a mindful school where mindfulness is taught and practiced daily to provide an additional emotional regulation tool. Such self regulation can be useful inside and outside of school.

Our Teachers and Staff are extraordinary educators who have an incredible sense of Falcon Family Pride, and I am proud to be part of such a caring and hard-working team.
